HISTORY

On seeing this 2CV on the cover of the very first ‘2CV’ magazine, I was amazed at its breathtaking state of preservation: all the criterias of the museum were combined in this rare model. Love at
first sight, I had to do everything to acquire it.

Bruno Deltombe was lucky to find it during a walk through Drancy in 1991. By chance we had a mutual friend, Daniel Hivert, who put me in touch with Bruno.
When I saw the car, I was amazed by the patina of the bodywork and the state of the tartan cloth upholstery. The interior door panels were still covered in the original protective paper: a miracle,
these protective covers should have been removed during the preparation for sale. The whole car was exceptional as it had been immobile for 37 years under covers and near a heating boiler.

Bruno did not want to sell, but Daniel remained confident: “You will get it, it’s just a matter of time” he told me, as Bruno was above all passionate about the H Type, and rather less about the
2CV. He was the founding president of the first ‘Friends of the H type’ club.

After 6 years of waiting, I received a call form Bruno informing me that he needed to finance another project. An agreement was quickly reached; in addition to the desired sum, I offered him a
beautiful 2CV of the same model year with 45,000km from new.
