The pinnacle of the CX, the most expensive version at the time and nowadays the most sought-after version, because:
- Prestige trim level, the most luxurious.
- The most powerful model with the petrol Turbo engine of 168 Ch(about 165bhp)
- ABS as standard (optional on previous models).

HISTORY:
This car is one of the last CX Prestige to come from the production line at the Aulnay factory. Delivered to Sweden, it was picked up by the dealer Douglas-Auto of Stockholm, with the intention of preserving as new and never sell it, as a souvenir of 14 years of working with the model. He had asked to have the last CX Prestige off the production line. It later turned out this was not the case.
After years of storage at the dealership, he finally decided to sell it to a lawyer acquaintance in Stockholm. He then kept the car in an underground car park in the city without telling his wife. Later he decided in turn to sell it, which was when Fredrik, a young Citroën fanatic, acquired it.
During the summer of 2013, I received a visit from Lars, president of the SM club of Sweden. He informed me of the existence of this fabulous CX and on returning to Sweden, put me in contact with Fredrik. We agreed on a swap for a DS Pallas and the balance in cash. In the Vendee region, I found a DS20 Pallas in Bleu Delta for Fredrik. I drive it to the museum to bring it up to standard. So it was that at Christmas 2013, I left for Stockholm to deliver the DS on a trailer in order to return with the CX.
Several days of cleaning and checks were sufficient to put it on display.
Note the sign “URGENT” put in in 1989 on the windscreen on a car that will never be driven, amazing, isn’t it?
