HISTORY:
In 1971, the GS was voted Car of the Year. Mr Mercier, a pensioner from Ponts-et -Chaussées, ordered a GS Club from the Bourges dealership. 5 years later, he traded it in for a new GS X2 (see the order form). After 32,000kms, he traded it in again, again 5 years later: Mr Mercier’s last car was this GSA Club, with the only option being metallic paint. He died in 1989. The car was used very little by his widow, but she refused to part with it.
On her death in 2011 and with no direct heir, it was decided the vehicle should be scrapped as the carte grise (registration document) could not be found. Mr Dussart, aware of these events, did everything he could to save the car from being crushed. From the provisional certificate and order forms shown here, he successfully obtained a new carte grise. In fact, the original one had been in a wallet in the jacket buried with the deceased owner and is presumably still there!
