The GSA Special was the base model in the GSA range. However, it gained the 1,300 cc, 65CV DIN engine with electronic ignition. 5 gear speed box.
There were several other improvements since 1982: carpets throughout, clock, cigar lighter, laminated windscreen.
Price at the time: 48,000 Francs.
HISTORY:
At the end of 1983, GSA production finished at the Rennes-la-Janais factory. Henceforth manufacture continued solely at the factory in Vigo, Spain.
This car is one that was miraculously unsold, just when arrived the new BX. It was never registered.
A general car collector in Madrid discovered it, then decided to sell it on in 2009. The new owner Jorge sold it to me 3 years later, conscious of the car’s heritage. I found the car in a beautiful setting amidst mandarin trees 2 hours south of Barcelona. Of course, the return trip with this very “Special” GSA was made on the back of a car-transporter.
